Commissioning Progress
28th August 2020
The BioSNG demonstration plant has around 2,000 motors, valves and instruments and every one will be tested before we start wet commissioning. Testing of instruments is done by injecting a signal and checking that the control system is reading that signal correctly. Testing of valves and motors is done by sending a signal from the control system and confirming its received correctly.
The Valmet control system used by the plant is now connected to all the valves, instruments and motors and can be used to cold commission them. The plant teams are working through each component safely and methodically.
The initial focus of commissioning is on the core systems required by the rest of the plant. The power, fire suppression and compressed air systems have been fully commissioned. The next priorities will be the water supply and effluent systems.
